Ole Miss is gearing up for a showdown against Duke in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl. Ahead of that matchup, the team has revealed what uniforms will be worn in the game.
The Rebels are going with powder helmets, red jerseys, and white pants. This will be the 1st time wearing this combo in 2024 for the Rebels.
This will be the team’s 4th time wearing red jerseys, 6th time wearing powder helmets, and 9th time wearing white pants in 2024. The team is 2-1 when wearing red jerseys, 3-2 when wearing powder helmets, and 6-2 when wearing white pants.
In the bowl game, the Rebels will be the home team. For home games in 2024, the Rebels have alternated between red jerseys, navy jerseys, and powder jerseys. Powder helmets have been worn more frequently on the road than at home, but fans love the powder look.
As far as the game is concerned, this will be the 1st all-time meeting between Ole Miss and Duke. The Rebels and Blue Devils both finished the regular season with a 9-3 record. Ole Miss narrowly missed an appearance in the College Football Playoff with a late-season loss to Florida dooming the team’s chances.
This will be the Rebels’ 4th appearance in the Gator Bowl while it will be the Blue Devils’ 1st. The Blue Devils’ last bowl appearance was in the 2023 Birmingham Bowl against Troy, while the Rebels made the 2023 Peach Bowl against Penn State.
This game will kick off from EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville on Jan. 2.
