By the end of the 3rd quarter on Saturday night, Ole Miss built up a 73-0 lead over Furman in its season-opener. But that paled in comparison to what the Rebels’ student section was able to accomplish during the blowout.

Ole Miss students put together a pretty impressive beer snake that appeared to span dozens of rows within the Ole Miss student section. The beer snake was propped up by an Ole Miss pledge class — with most other students having already left the stadium for the night.

Ole Miss ended up defeating Furman 76-0. Quarterback Jaxson Dart scored a career-high 6 total touchdowns in the first half and didn’t play after the break. Instead, it was Austin Simmons and Walker Howard who led the Rebels at QB after the break. Simmons got most of the action throwing for 111 yards and 1 TD in mop-up duty.

Ole Miss will host Middle Tennessee in Week 2.
