Ole Miss suffers decommitment from mammoth 4-star in-state offensive lineman

Ole Miss suffered a decommitment from its 5th-highest rated recruit out of 15 in this year’s class.

Bryson Hurst of Gautier, Mississippi announced on social media on Sunday that he would bring his recruitment back 100 percent open after he committed to the Rebels on Aug. 25. The news came after Ole Miss beat Texas A&M on Saturday to improve to 8-2 this season. Hurst has 15 known offers, including several SEC programs.

“I am doing this because I was under a lot of stress trying to be the perfect son, student, brother, athlete, etc …,” Hurst wrote.

Hurst is listed at 6-foot-6 and 320 pounds, and is rated the No. 7 player in the state of Mississippi, and the No. 28 offensive tackle in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite.

The Rebels were ranked No. 10 in the SEC, and No. 30 in the country before he backed off his pledge.
