Mississippi head coach Hugh Freeze announced in his weekly news conference on Monday that defensive back Trae Elston will sit out the first half of this week’s game against Texas A&M.
Elston was seen as having made a kicking motion toward Alabama running back Kenyan Drake after Drake suffered a horrifying leg injury on Saturday afternoon.
Freeze, according to reporters, did not believe Elston had any intention to harm Drake. According to Neal McCready of Rivals, the SEC will have no further discipline.
Trae Elston has been suspended for the first half of the Texas A&M game for the kick. That’s Hugh Freeze’s decision, and SEC has upheld it.

Freeze says, “I don’t think there was any intent to hurt or injure” but the action happened.
