Mississippi’s Laquon Treadwell, the SEC’s top receiver this season and projected Top 10 pick in next year’s draft, has been named one of 10 finalists for the Biletnikoff Award, given annually to college football’s best wideout.
Alabama’s Amari Cooper won the honor last fall after shattering several program records for the Crimson Tide.
Treadwell is the SEC’s only receiver this season who has surpassed the 1,000-yard mark. His 68 receptions is five more than his next closest competitor, Texas A&M freshman Christian Kirk.
Treadwell’s one of only 14 receivers nationally averaging at least 100 yards per game. He has returned in full force this fall from last season’s devastating ankle injury that many thought could jeopardize his football career.
