Ole Miss moves up to No. 14 in Week 3 AP poll, No. 15 in coaches’ poll

The Ole Miss Rebels moved up in both the Associated Press and Amway Coaches’ polls Sunday afternoon, one day after trouncing SEC rival Vanderbilt 41-3 in Nashville.

Ole Miss moved up two spots in the coaches’ poll to No. 15, and moved up one spot in the AP poll to No. 14 this week. The Rebels benefited from losses by three teams ranked ahead of them last week (Michigan State, Ohio State and Stanford), although two of those teams lost to fellow top-15 programs.

Nevertheless, the Rebels impressive performance against the Commodores caught the eye of the AP and the coaches, sliding them up in both polls. Ole Miss is one of eight SEC teams ranked in both polls, but it sits behind five top-10 teams from the conference in Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Texas A&M and LSU.
