Omari Thomas apologizes after shoving Arkansas fan on field Saturday night
Omari Thomas was called out on Sunday after being caught on video shoving a fan on Saturday night.
After the Arkansas Razorbacks pulled off the upset over No. 4 Tennessee, the fans in Fayetteville predictably stormed the field. The Vols entered the game as heavy favorites and were looking to stay perfect on the season. Instead, the Razorbacks picked up a quality home win and improved to 4-2 on the season.
As the Tennessee players were trying to leave the field, Thomas could be seen shoving a male fan into a female. Both fans fell to the ground due to the shove.
It’s unknown what triggered Thomas to shove the male fan. Understandably, many were upset with the acts of Thomas and demanded accountability and/or punishment.
On Sunday afternoon, Thomas took to social media to issue an apology.
I apologize for my actions during the chaotic postgame scene. Even though we got run into multiple times by fans while trying to exit the field, that doesn’t condone my actions or define my character. I sincerely apologize. I wish Arkansas and their fans all the best. Big O

This isn’t the first time a field storming involving Tennessee has led to controversy. After Tennessee’s upset win over Alabama in 2022, Alabama WR Jermaine Burton was seen hitting a female fan. The WR did not receive any formal discipline for that incident.
Thomas is a senior leader for the Vols. It will be interesting to see what discipline, if any, is levied against the defender.
