Back when the Big Ten didn’t look like it was going to play football this fall, Minnesota star WR Rashod Bateman announced he was opting out of the 2020 season.
Then, when the Big Ten decided to play, Bateman came back, too, anticipating a big season with the upstart Golden Gophers.
Instead, Minnesota is a disappointing 2-3 and just had its game against Wisconsin postponed due to COVID-19. Now, Bateman has decided to opt back out of the rest of the season:

Bateman has been his usual star self. In 5 games, he recorded 36 catches for 472 yards and 2 touchdowns.
He’ll almost certainly be a first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
