The Oregon Duck is an iconic mascot around college football. But even the best of the best suffer embarrassing mistakes from time to time.
That was the case on Saturday afternoon in Eugene, where Oregon was getting set to host Colorado and coach Deion Sanders.
As you can see below, the Oregon mascot came out in a cowboy hat and sunglasses, trolling Coach Prime’s signature look. But, perhaps as a bit of karma, the duck’s head fell off, causing the person under the mask to run back into the tunnel:

That’s every mascot’s worst nightmare. You don’t want to lose your head on the field, especially in a big-time game like this one.
Will that affect the Ducks on Saturday afternoon at Autzen Stadium? Oregon scored on its first possession of the game, so the offense has at least come out firing on all cylinders. The major Pac-12 showdown is currently being aired on ABC.
