Patrick Peterson, former LSU DB, reportedly signing with new NFL team

Patrick Peterson is on the move. With NFL free agency on the way, Peterson did not need long to find a new deal. He is reportedly headed to Pittsburgh after spending the last 2 seasons with the Minnesota Vikings.
Peterson will sign a 2-year contract with the Steelers, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter shares that it is a 2-year deal because Peterson feels he can play 2 more seasons. The former LSU standout is entering Year 13 of his pro career.

Peterson is coming off of one of his best seasons in recent years. In 2022, Peterson recorded 15 passes defended, his first double-digit total since 2013 when he had 13. Peterson’s 5 interceptions are his most in a single season since 2012 when he had 7 picks.
Peterson has 34 career interceptions, tied for most among active players. He spent the first 10 seasons of his career with the Arizona Cardinals (2011-2020), earning first-team All-Pro recognition in 2013 and ’15 and being selected to 8 Pro Bowls (2011-18).
