Paul Finebaum explains why there will be no movement at top of 3rd College Football Playoff rankings
For those college football fans who love chaos reigning supreme when the College Football Playoff rankings are released each Tuesday night, Paul Finebaum doesn’t have good news for you.
The ESPN college football analyst and SEC football savant believes that the top 4 will remain as is when the 3rd edition of the CFP rankings is announced on ESPN. That means no chaos, for now at least, no craziness and no changes.
“No, I think it will remain status quo because TCU did what a lot of people did not think they would do,” said Finebaum on Tuesday morning on the “Keyshawn, JWill and Max” show. “They went to Austin and won, so I would be very surprised if they lose the No. 4 spot. Tennessee is right behind them, probably would have moved in, but no change at the top.”
Finebaum was then asked by Keyshawn Johnson why it feels like TCU is this year’s Cincinnati when it comes to the Playoff.
“Because they keep beating the odds,” said Finebaum. “They made a coaching change last year. Nobody expected anything. But they’re not done yet. They’re at Baylor this weekend, very tough game, then they have the Big 12 Championship Game. Should they survive that, they’re going to end up in the Playoff.”
