Paul Finebaum isn’t trying to rain on Colorado’s parade but he expects Oregon to hand head coach Deion Sanders his first loss with the program.

The ESPN analyst shared his opinion during the most recent edition of First Take that No. 19 Colorado won’t defeat host No. 10 Oregon in Week 4.

“Especially this week on the road, I just don’t think it’s possible that Colorado with all the magic around this program that the 2 of you guys have helped create, is going to be able to get it done,” Finebaum said.

Finebaum cites reliable Oregon senior quarterback Bo Nix as a major factor for why Colorado will drop its first game of the 2023 slate. The former Auburn quarterback has passed for 893 yards with 8 touchdowns and no interceptions this season. Finebaum is enjoying the Cinderella run by Sanders’ squad but believes the Buffaloes will hit a speed bump on Saturday.

“He has matured into an excellent QB. He’s got a lot of complements around him,” Finebaum said. “As much as we would all like to see this train continue, it ends Saturday afternoon.”

Colorado will also be without 2-way star Travis Hunter after he sustained a tough hit in the wild 43-35 double overtime victory vs. Colorado State. Oregon handled Hawaii 55-10 in Week 3.

Colorado at Oregon is slated for a 3:30 p.m. EST kickoff and will be televised on ABC.
