Paul Finebaum doesn’t give praise easily, and he especially doesn’t do it so easily this early in the season.

But the ESPN college football analyst did just that while appearing on the ‘McElroy & Cubelic In The Morning’ podcast on Monday. Finebaum’s focus was 4th-ranked Alabama and how good the Crimson Tide have looked so far through the 1st 3 games of the Kalen DeBoer era.

“I came away really fired up about Alabama,” said Finebaum. “I know that’s maybe sounding different than some people expected from a week ago.”

Alabama ventured north to Big Ten country for the 1st time since 2011 on Saturday and walloped Wisconsin, 42-10, with quarterback Jalen Milroe putting on a show through the air and on the ground. The Crimson Tide easily improved to 3-0 and now enter a bye week as they gear up for a primetime showdown with 2nd-ranked Georgia on Sept. 28 in Tuscaloosa.

“This is a perfect moment for them,” Finebaum continued. “They get a chance to get everyone even a little healthy. And when you juxtapose that against Georgia, I think Alabama fans have to feel pretty good right now. I don’t think what happened to Georgia Saturday night … is really a critical factor today. But I feel absolutely fired up about Alabama, and I think they are way ahead of schedule.”

With that, let the buildup begin to one of the biggest SEC games in recent history.
