Paul Finebaum says the Crimson Tide are like ‘beggars … waiting for a food crumb’

Paul Finebaum had some harsh words for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Speaking with Matt Barrie of ESPN, Finebaum compared the Tide to “beggars hanging outside waiting for a food crumb.”
“I just got this hollow feeling as Bryce Young and Will Anderson walked off the field that this team should’ve been going to Atlanta, this team should’ve been going to the playoffs,” said Finebaum. “And as a result, they’re like beggars, hanging outside waiting for a food crumb.”
Finebaum was referring to the fact that the Tide will almost assuredly need the USC Trojans to lose again to have a chance at the College Football Playoff. Even with a USC loss, the Tide would still need to get lucky. Ohio State with only 1 loss could still be favored over Alabama by the committee.
This season could become just the second season since the College Football Playoff system was implemented and Alabama is not included. The Tide’s playoff hopes would essentially be eliminated if USC defeats Utah in the Pac-12 Championship Game.
