ESPN college football analyst Paul Finebaum doesn’t agree with Tennessee fans who are taking part in the “#EmptyNeyland” campaign in order to put pressure on athletic director John Currie to fire head coach Butch Jones.
“That’s absurd,” said Finebaum on Jox 94.5 FM in Alabama. “College football players only get 12 or 13 days a year to be on display, and this is an important moment. I rarely go this route, but if you’re a parent of a senior — just go to the game. Stop all this nonsense.
“He’s not going to be there much longer. Let the players have their day. If 25,000 people show up or 105,000 people show up, the result is still going to be same: Butch Jones is going to be fired.”
The campaign is encouraging fans to not attend Tennessee’s homecoming game against Southern Mississippi on Saturday.

Tennessee is 3-5 this season and 33-26 in Jones’ five seasons as the Vols head coach.
