Skenes has allowed just one hit in 3 scoreless appearances so far in the minors. He is the No. 3 prospect in the MLB, sitting behind Baltimore Oriels prospect Jackson Holliday and Milwaukee Brewers prospect Jackson Chourio. Skenes’ LSU teammate Dylan Crews is the No. 4 prospect in the MLB and is currently playing with the Washington Nationals Single-A affiliate.
The jump up to Double-A is just a continuation of what has been a fantastic year for Skenes. On his way to a championship season with the Tigers, he recorded 13 wins and just 2 losses, boasting a 1.69 ERA and 209 strikeouts. He, along with the rest of LSU’s dominant 2023 roster, led the Tigers to a 54-17 record. LSU defeated Florida in the College World Series.
