Von Pearson and Ethan Wolf may be back to Tennessee’s lineup sooner than expected. According to GoVolsXtra, Wolf has a bruised right knee and Pearson a possible sprained left ankle, per sources familiar with the injuries. The source spoke anonymously Sunday because the injuries have yet to be officially announced to the public. Both players suffered injuries during Tennessee’s 34-19 win over Arkansas State Saturday and did not return to action.

Pearson enjoyed a breakout performance of a team-best 71 yards on four receptions before suffering an injury in second quarter. He was evaluated by the Vols’ training staff and taken to the locker room on crutches. Pearson is a four-star JUCO All-American transfer and Tennessee’s No. 2 starting wide receiver.

Wolf recorded 20 yards on five catches before leaving the game in the third quarter. He became the first true freshman tight end to start a Tennessee home opener in Week 1 against Utah State.

Tennessee enters a tough stretch of games beginning with No. 4 Oklahoma on Saturday. Following a bye week, the Vols will face SEC East rivals No. 6 Georgia and Florida.
