Is anyone buying what Penn State defensive lineman Anthony Zettel is selling?

According to report by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Seth Emerson, Zettel said he believes that the Crimson Tide front seven is not as good as Penn State’s.

Well, the exact quote was this: “I think we have the best front seven in the country, when healthy.”

That would seem to include the Crimson Tide, which shut out Michigan State in the College Football Playoff semifinals on Thursday night.

Yes, the same Spartans squad that scored 55 points against Penn State’s vaunted front seven in November.

Penn State will put that front seven to the test against another SEC team on Saturday, as Georgia takes on the Nittany Lions in the TaxSlayer Bowl.

The Bulldogs players, which have played against Alabama already this season, didn’t want much to do with that quote, according to Emerson.

Here’s a quote from Georgia OL John Theus:

“They’re definitely a little different. I don’t think I’m gonna get in a debate on who’s better and who’s not and give anybody any material on either team. But both of them are good front sevens. Obviously we’ve played Bama, we’ve seen that one first hand. We’ll see Penn State’s first hand tomorrow. So maybe if you ask me after the game I’ll be able to tell you the answer on that one.”
