Pete Alonso says he received ‘C’ grade at Florida for writing paper on his Major League Baseball goals

Gainesville native Pete Alonso had one goal when he arrived at the University of Florida — get to Major League Baseball.
While he earned his way into college on a baseball scholarship and dreamed of reaching the game’s highest level, he still had his doubters upon his arrival to campus. During a recent interview, the promising Mets prospect recalled the time he received a “C” grade on a paper outlining his goal of making it to Major League Baseball.
