Peyton Manning explains why Jeremy Pruitt was the right hire for Tennessee
The Jeremy Pruitt era in Knoxville isn’t off to the hottest start, but the former Alabama defensive coordinator still has a lot to offer to this Tennessee program.
On Saturday during the Vols’ matchup against Georgia, CBS interviewed Tennessee legend Peyton Manning on the sideline, and he explained why he has faith in Pruitt to lead Tennessee back to relevance in the SEC.
“He’s an SEC veteran, he’s been around winning programs,” he said. “I played against Jeremy, I love his passion, his intensity. You got to give him a chance to develop his culture, develop his team, but I believe in him and I think we are headed in the right direction.”
Manning also reflected on some of his best SEC memories and on how he used to play against Georgia head coach Kirby Smart.
