Peyton Manning sits for sculptor to create Pro Football Hall of Fame bust

One of the more unique aspects of going into the Pro Football Hall of Fame is that a sculptor creates a bronze bust of a person’s likeness to be enshrined in Canton, Ohio.
Tennessee legend Peyton Manning recently had that experience as his likeness is being worked on by sculptor Blair Buswell. It’s one of the few unique special things that Hall of Fame inductees receive, including a gold jacket and ring.
Buswell has created more than 100 for the Hall of Fame, including Indianapolis Colts’ enshrinees Bill Polian, Tony Dungy and Edgerrin James, per Fox 59.
Manning will be inducted along with the rest of the Class of 2021 on Sunday, Aug. 8 at Tom Benson Stadium in Canton. His father, Archie will present him for enshrinement.
James will be inducted with the Centennial Class of 2020 the day before on Saturday, Aug. 7. Last year’s ceremony was moved to this year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
“Every generation or so, you end up with someone like Brett Favre or Peyton Manning,” Pro Football Hall of Fame President David Baker said. “… Everybody knows that they belong in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.”
