Soon after junior college running back Mark Thompson arrived in Gainesville as an early enroll, some teammates compared him to former Alabama hulking running back Derrick Henry. The 6-foot-2, 242-pound Thompson doesn’t exactly look fun to tackle, that’s for sure. Last season, Thompson was named a NJCAA All-American and the No. 1 junior college running back prospect in the nation, according to 247Sports.
After finished the season ranked next to last in the SEC in rushing, Thompson could provide the Gators with a bruising, physical presence the offense was missing in 2015.
