Photo: LSU using billboards to sway New Orleans recruits to stay at home
LSU’s message to New Orleans area prospects is simple, stay at home and we’ll make you great and you can play for the in-state program.
That’s clearly the theme of the electronic billboards going up around NOLA, as running back Leonard Fournette, receiver Malachi Dupre and offensive lineman Will Clapp are currently gracing billboards across the city.
Here are images of the billboards, courtesy of the official LSU Football Facebook page:
The Tigers currently have 17 players on the roster from New Orleans: Fournette, Dupre, Clapp, Trey LaForge, Tyron Johnson, Dwayne Thomas, Lanard Fournette, Louis Landrum, Donnie Alexander, Ronnie Lamarque, Rory Luke, Jordan Harper, Foster Moreau, Isaiah Washington, Donavaughn Campbell, Sci Martin and Jamal Pettigrew.
While much of the roster comes from the city, the Tigers currently have 83 players overall on the roster from the state of Louisiana. With or without the billboards, it’s quite clear who runs the state of Louisiana.
