The ‘Battle at Bristol’ contest between Virginia Tech and Tennessee is fascinating on a number of fronts.

For one, the contest is billed as the ‘biggest’ college football game in history — with an expected crowd of potentially 150,000 in attendance. Adding to the mystique, the game is being played at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tenn.

Bristol, Tenn. is nearly equidistant between both campuses. Travel will be easy for the fan bases of both squads, and it surely will be a raucous, carnival-like atmosphere on Saturday evening.

While both fan bases will be represented, it appears as if a group of UT fans are attempting to make Bristol as ‘Knoxville-like’ as possible — seen here with a sign shaped as the famous “rock” on campus featuring Smokey the Bluetick Coonhound.

Vol fans would love nothing more than to bellow “Rocky Top” all night long against the Hokies this upcoming weekend.
