Saturday’s game between Florida and Tennessee is special for a number of reasons.
This is arguably the marquee match-up within the SEC. Both teams are favorites to win the SEC East — and victory in this game will go a long way towards making this goal a reality.
Besides the battle on the gridiron, there’s also another battle taking place: raising money for the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.

As modeled here by UT signal-caller Josh Dobbs, Tennessee players will wear Pat Summitt eye patches on Saturday honoring the fallen basketball coach. As everyone within the Knoxville community knows, the iconic figure passed away this past June after a long bout with early-onset Alzheimer’s.
Neyland Stadium — the site of this contest — has a capacity of 102,455. As a result, $102,455 will be donated at halftime of the game to fight the disease.
Even if Tennessee isn’t able to win this contest, it truly will be a special day in Knoxville.
