The “big man,” Barton Clement, has made it official with Texas A&M.
Clement, a talented 4-star offensive guard in the class of 2018, officially signed on with the Aggies on Thursday — the second day of the inaugural Early Signing Period.
The Missouri City, Texas native (Fort Bend Marshall High School) is listed at 6-foot-3 and 315 pounds. He’s rated as the No. 15 guard in the country, and is the No. 43 overall prospect in the talent-rich state of Texas.
Clement had other offers from the likes of Auburn, Florida, Michigan, Ohio State and Oklahoma. He has been committed to A&M since June 18.
His 247Sports profile evaluation describes him as an offensive lineman who “moves well laterally for a player already north of 300 pounds.”
It says that he is “athletic enough to get to the second level quickly” and is a “physical drive-blocker who thrives in the run game … finishes blocks and plays through the whistle.
“Once he’s locked on, you’re probably done,” it adds.
