Former Florida All-American Ike Hilliard lands coaching position with Pittsburgh Steelers

After six seasons with the Washington Redskins, Ike Hilliard is now a Pittsburgh Steeler.
The 2020 season will be Hilliard’s 10th as a receivers coach in the NFL and his first with the Steelers. Pittsburgh’s new receivers coach joins the Steelers after helping develop one of the best rookie receivers of 2019 as Terry McLaurin led Washington in receiving yards receptions and touchdown receptions during his first year in the NFL.
Hilliard also helped coach Pierre Garçon and DeSean Jackson to some of their best NFL seasons during their time with Washington. Hilliard also has experience coaching receivers for the Buffalo Bills and the Florida Tuskers of the United Football League.
A former first-round pick of the New York Giants in 1997, Hilliard appeared in 161 NFL games as a player and had 546 receptions for 6,397 yards and 35 touchdowns during his NFL playing career.
The former Florida Gator standout starred in Gainesville from 1994-1996 catching 126 passes for 2,214 yards and 29 touchdowns playing for Steve Spurrier. Following his outstanding junior season, Hilliard was named All-SEC and All-American before declaring early for the 1997 NFL Draft.
In his final game as a Gator, Hilliard caught seven passes for 150 yards and three touchdowns in a 52-20 win over Florida State in the Sugar Bowl that won Florida the national championship.
