The team didn’t look much like one of the best college football programs in the nation, but it was enough to prevent the Aggies from slipping in the polls.
In fact, the Aggies got three No. 1 votes in the Associated Press Poll released Sunday afternoon, shifting up one slot and replacing Georgia at No. 6. A&M also moved up one slot in the Coaches Poll to No. 7, with Baylor (3-0) occupying the No. 6 spot.
Overall, there are four SEC West teams in the top eight of both polls, and five of the Top 10 in the AP poll are from the most feared division in college football.
A&M plays at SMU on Saturday with another opportunity to shore up a shoddy defense ahead of SEC play.
