Former Florida OL Maurkice Pouncey was the No. 18 overall pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2010 NFL Draft.
A year later, his twin brother Mike, also a former Gator, went No. 15 overall to the Miami Dolphins.
When the Dolphins and Steelers have met in years past, one or both of the Pouncey twins have missed the game with injuries.
However, on Sunday afternoon, both Mike and Maurkice will suit up and play for their respective teams.
According to Sun-Sentinel.com, the twins are excited to face each other on the gridiron:
“It’s going to be a special weekend for our family,” Mike said. “They finally get to get together and see us both on the field at the same time in the NFL, so we’re looking forward to it.”
It’s safe to say the twins have had Sunday’s matchup circled on their calendars for a long time:
“Mike, the whole offseason kept screaming out, ‘Week 6,’ ” Maurkice said. “So I guess I know what that means. All you guys know Mike, he’s a little bit more of a trash talker than me, so we’ll see how things turn out.”
The Dolphins host the Steelers at 1 p.m. Eastern time. Watch the former Gators battle it out on CBS.
