You know the names. You might not know where they all are now. So we offer this as a public service …
Feast your eyes on the top 10 former SEC quarterbacks power rankings after Week 13!
10. Woody Barrett, Kent State (last week: 10)
Barrett, a former Auburn QB for a hot minute, hasn’t played in forever for the Golden Flashes. Barrett’s season passing stats: 20-of-40 for 205 yards and 3 TDs.
9. Cole Kelley, Southeastern Louisiana (last week: 9)
The former Arkansas Razorback backs up Chason Virgil, and went 3-of-6 for 26 yards and a TD in a 28-27 loss to Nicholls. Kelley added 8 carries for 19 yards for the 7-4 Lions.
8. Layne Hatcher, Arkansas State (last week: 8)
Hatcher, who transferred from Alabama, went 19-of-24 for 354 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 38-33 Red Wolves victory over Georgia Southern. Hatcher has thrown for 2,221 yards and 21 touchdowns against 9 interceptions for Arkansas State.
7. Quinten Dormady, Central Michigan (last week: 7)
The former Tennessee (and Houston) transfer and the Chippewas were idle in Week 13, and are 7-4 overall and 5-2 in the Mid-American Conference heading into Saturday’s game against Toledo.
6. Justin McMillan, Tulane (last week: 5)
McMillan did his part in the Green Wave’s 34-31 loss to Central Florida, as he went 13-of-27 for 181 yards and a TD, and the former LSU helmsman also rushed 23 times for a team-high 102 yards.
5. Ty Storey, Western Kentucky (last week: 6)
The former Arkansas Razorback went 20-of-30 for 225 yards and 2 TDs in a 28-10 victory over Southern Miss. Storey has led the Hilltoppers to a 7-4 record, throwing for 1,915 yards and 10 touchdowns this season.
4. Jacob Eason, Washington (last week: 3)
This has been a season to forget for the former Georgia QB, as he went 21-of-34 for 206 yards and 1 TD with 1 interception as Washington lost to Colorado 20-14. Eason was sacked 5 times as the Huskies dropped to 6-5 overall and 3-5 in the Pac-12.
Eason’s passing stats this season: 223-of-351 for 2,678 yards and 21 touchdowns against 8 interceptions.
3. Shea Patterson, Michigan (last week: 4)
Finally, this is the reason Michigan coveted Patterson. The former Ole Miss QB and his No. 12 Wolverines went off on Indiana — going 20-for-32 for 366 yards and 5 TDs against 1 interception in a 39-14 victory.
“We’re riding him,” Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh said. “His play has just been outstanding and he’s really seeing the field well. He’s taking care of the football at all times and really playing good, disciplined football.”
2. Justin Fields, Ohio State (last week: 2)
No. 2 Ohio State just keeps rolling along, and Fields keeps piling up big numbers with the Buckeyes.
Fields went 16-of-22 for 188 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 28-17 victory over No. 9 Penn State. He added 21 carries for 68 yards. He did fumble 3 times, however, including once just before he reached the end zone.
The win kept the Buckeyes on the path toward a possible national championship, with the annual grudge match against No. 13 Michigan (9-2) next week and the Big Ten title game after that.
The Georgia transfer has thrown 33 touchdowns and 1 interception in his first season as the Buckeyes’ starter.
“He’s a warrior, I’m telling you,” Day said of his QB. “He’s got the heart of a lion.”
1. Jalen Hurts, Oklahoma (last week: 1)
Another week, another harrowing game for Hurts and Oklahoma.
The senior graduate transfer from Alabama passed for 2 touchdowns and ran for 2more, and No. 8 Oklahoma held off TCU 28-24 to clinch a spot in the Big 12 Championship Game.
Hurts connected on just 11-of-21 passes, threw an interception that was returned for a TD and lost a fumble in the red zone. But Hurts, who now has a combined 36-3 record as a starter at Alabama and Oklahoma, was fine after the game.
“Regardless of the fumble or the pick-6 or whatever mess-up I may have had today, we found a way,” he said.
Hurts rushed for 173 yards on 28 carries and passed for 145 yards — a total that could have been much higher.
“One of the first games where he just missed a few throws down the field that could have really busted the thing open,” Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley said. “And they were all just long by just a tad bit. So he was just a little bit off on some of the deep balls.”
Hurts has thrown for 3,184 yards — 9th in the nation — and 28 TDs. He also has 17 touchdown runs in 2019 and is the nation’s 2nd-leading rusher among QBs with 1,156 yards.
The Sooners could still reach the College Football Playoff by winning out and getting some help. But first, Bedlam looms Saturday with No. 22 Oklahoma State.
