Pro Football Focus: Three SEC players ‘on the rise’ as NFL Draft prospects
As always, the SEC looks to be producing more highly rated NFL Draft prospects.
Three SEC players made Pro Football Focus’ list of five NFL Draft prospects on the rise: LSU’s Ethan Pocic and Tre’Davious White and Mississippi State’s A.J. Jefferson.
The website raved about Pocic’s ability to handle nose tackles and make blocks in space. The senior is at the heart of an LSU attack that has rushed for 185 yards per game this season, and Pro Football Focus credited the center with “one pressure and one other loss in pass protection” on 47 passing snaps this season.
White ripped off an incredible punt return against Jacksonville State last Saturday, but he has also been a consistent tackler and stingy cover guy. Pro Football Focus claims White has worked himself back into early-round consideration so far.
Jefferson had a monster game against South Carolina with a sack, a quarterback hit, two hurries and four run stops, which the website called “the best game we’ve seen from him in three years of grading.”
Marcus covers SEC football for Saturday Down South.
