One of the preseason Eastern Division frontrunners, Georgia doesn’t have many question marks on this year’s team heading into the brief summer break. We break down the possible two-deep:
OFFENSE (Pro-style)
QB1: Brice Ramsey — OR —
QB2: Faton Bauta
It’s a toss up heading into fall practice, but Ramsey has the experience edge which means a ton when there’s little separation and similar skill sets. First-year OC Brian Schottenheimer was pleased with what he saw from both quarterbacks during the spring game.

SLOT WR2: Terry Godwin
FLANKER WR1: Justin Scott-Wesley
FLANKER WR2: Reggie Davis
Davis has received more reps with the first team at flanker, but Scott-Wesley has the highest potential if he can return to pre-injury form. He’s as gifted as any SEC receiver when he’s healthy and is a physical pass-catcher.

Long and Brandon Kublanow could unseat Wynn in the middle in August if the projected first-teamer doesn’t become more consistent at the position. He started every scrimmage, but struggled in the finale. Kublanow will likely start at left guard, but could slide over if Wynn’s not ready. Georgia is returning starters at all positions along the offensive line except center.

One of two freshmen who could start up front for the Bulldogs this season, Ledbetter had a fantastic spring under Tracy Rocker’s tutelage as one of Georgia’s most consistent pass rushers. Dawson probably gets the nod here, but Ledbetter has a better chance of starting the opener than fellow rookie Thompson at the other end spot. The gap between Bailey and Thompson is considerably wider than Ledbetter vs. Dawson.

No team in the SEC is blessed at the outside linebacker positions quite like the Bulldogs who possess three players capable of All-SEC caliber campaigns. Prewitt will get creative with Carter and find ways to put him on the field at the same time with Jenkins and Floyd. As a freshman, Carter was one of the defense’s top playmakers, developing into a star during the second-half of the season with more snaps.

In nickel packages, freshman Rico McGraw will likely handle the star position. Pruitt likes his athleticism and the fact McGraw appears to have a nose for the football. At the back end, Georgia’s extremely strong at the safety spots. UGA’s newcomer of the year last fall, Sanders started games at all three defensive back positions as a true freshman while Mauger earned All-SEC honorable mention accolades with a team-best four interceptions.
