Quinn Ewers injury update: Texas QB reportedly learns severity of injury, timeline to return

Quinn Ewers left the Alabama game early on Saturday, and the Texas quarterback is dealing with a serious injury that’s been diagnosed as an SC sprain.
Pete Thamel of ESPN reported that Ewers will be out 4-6 weeks because of the significant injury, as it is where the sternum meets the clavicle. An MRI on Saturday confirmed the diagnosis. The earliest that Ewers could potentially return is the Oklahoma game on Oct. 8.
Alabama pass rusher Dallas Turner landed on Ewers, who fell on his left shoulder with Turner on top of him. Turner was flagged for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for driving the quarterback into the ground.
Before the injury, Ewers was off to a great start, and was 9-for-12 passing for 158 yards.

Ewers was replaced by the man he beat out in the quarterback competition, Hudson Card, and Card played the final 3 quarters against Alabama and passed for 158 yards, but he also suffered a hard hit and spent much of the second half with a notable limp.
