Just how big was Ole Miss’ win over Alabama? Here’s an attempt to wrap our heads around the significance.

The Rebels’ first time beating Alabama in back-to-back seasons
This was the 60th meeting between the two schools, and yet the Rebels had never managed to beat the Tide in back-to-back games. Until now.

Ole Miss’ second win ever at Alabama
Ole Miss had only won one other time as the visiting team against Alabama. That was all the way back in 1988, a 22-12 loss to the visiting Rebels.

Alabama’s home win streak comes to an end
The loss ends Alabama’s 17-game home win streak. That stretch was tied with Baylor for the longest in the FBS.

Nick Saban no longer perfect in SEC home-openers
Saban was a perfect 8-0 in SEC home-openers at Alabama. In fact, he was riding an 11-game win streak in SEC home-openers overall dating back to 2002 when he was with LSU.

September dominance comes to an end
The Tide were riding a 29-game win streak in September. It hadn’t suffered a loss in the month since 2007 (Sept. 20 vs Florida State).
