Rece Davis says Ole Miss is currently a better job for Lane Kiffin than Florida

Rece Davis has been around college football for a long time and he recently weighed in on recent rumors involving Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin.
With the Florid Gators sputtering at (1-2), there’s plenty of speculation Billy Napier will be fired, and Kiffin has been a popular name that has come up to replace him in Gainesville. Davis has been part of ESPN’s college football coverage for more than 2 decades and he doesn’t see Kiffin entertaining the Florida job.
Tough situation at Florida. On the @CollegeGameDay pod some say one guy IS the list if the Gators make a move. Not that simple- at least not for the programs in their current states. Among the many topics for @PeteThamel @ESPNMcGee and me. https://t.co/EJYq9EMUfh pic.twitter.com/HPm1it9X8H

“As I said earlier I’m not the biggest fan on this but I also can’t ignore the obvious,” Davis said. “You can’t ignore the obvious and pretend they won’t go after Lane Kiffin. As I sit here right now, Lane Kiffin has a better job right now, and he is at best making a lateral move.”
Kiffin was hired in 2020 to revamp an Ole Miss program that was struggling to compete with the top teams in the SEC. In just a short time, the Rebels head coach has turned the program around.
Ole Miss is a serious contender for the national championship this season — and in the new age of college football — Kiffin has masterfully blended the NIL world and transfer portal with the culture he’s implementing.
After the major offseason, bet365 has the Rebels at +1200 to win the national championship this year as the 6th-best odds in the country. Fans can use SDS’s real money betting apps to get in on that action.
Last year, he led Ole miss to an (11-2) record with a victory in the Peach Bowl, the first 11-win season in school history.
