Georgia lost another Class of 2016 commit on Monday when three-star wide receiver Darion Anderson (Warner-Robins, Ga./Houston County) announced he was de-committing via Twitter.
“I’ve decided to de-commit from the University of Georgia,” Anderson said before thanking various coaches (including assistant John Lilly) and saying that he would not be taking questions from the media about his choice.
It will be interesting to see where the 6-foot-1, 170-pound Anderson ends up. He committed to UGA on March 2 and didn’t have but one additional SEC offer- from Kentucky. Boston College, Colorado State, Marshall, Samford and Wake Forest were his other offers.
There are plenty of programs that have needs at wide receiver, however, so it’s expected that Anderson will have additional options once the dead period ends on Jan. 13.
Anderson will play in the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl. He is the No. 62 wide receiver nationally per 247Sports Composite rankings.
