After a couple of Power 5 schedules came out earlier this week, Saturday was a day of pessimism in the college football world.

First, the MAC canceled its fall sports season. Second, there is reportedly some momentum in the Big Ten for pushing the season back to the spring.

Now, per a report from CBS Sports writer Dennis Dodd, 2 Power 5 ADs think its inevitable that the 2020 season won’t be played, at least not in the fall:

“It’s not fair what we’re doing to our coaches and student-athletes,” one long-time Power Five AD said. “The sooner we can come to a finality, the better.”

“I think it’s inevitable [the season will not be played in the fall],” said another veteran Power Five AD.

That’s only 2 of the 65 Power 5 ADs, of course, but it does seem momentum is building for delaying or canceling the season.

This coming week will be huge as far as finding out whether or not games will be played this fall.
