Report: 4-star UGA RB commit James Cook takes surprise visit to FSU

Could Florida State be making a push for one Georgia commit?
James Cook, a 4-star RB out of Miami, Florida, is reportedly on campus at FSU Friday evening. The No. 3 overall RB in the nation for 2018 according to 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Cook committed to Georgia in October. However, he was previously committed to the Seminoles before flipping to the Bulldogs.
Recruiting is fun, isn’t it?
Cook, who is the younger brother of former FSU star RB Dalvin Cook, could just be making sure UGA is the right fit, but it is definitely something to keep an eye on with the new early signing period coming up next week. The hire of new head coach Willie Taggart (and the end of the Jimbo Fisher era) was obviously impactful enough to get Cook back on campus, and one of Taggart’s new assistants previously worked at Cook’s high school.
FSU beat writer Wayne McGahee III shared the news on Twitter:
4-star UGA RB commit James Cook is on campus at #FSU currently. He’s a former FSU commit. Willie Taggart’s first hire, Telly Lockette, was the head coach at Miami Central before he got into the college game.

Cook is ranked as the nation’s No. 30 overall player.
