UCF has reportedly applied to join the Big 12 conference.
The Knights were in the MAC from 2002 to 2004 and the C-USA from 2005 to 2012 before joining the American Athletic Conference in 2013.
Per reports on Wednesday, an announcement is expected on Friday:

They join 2 other teams from the American Athletic Conference as Cincinnati and Houston reportedly plan on announcing their applications to the Big 12 soon.
BYU also reportedly plans to apply to the Big 12 conference. The Cougars are one of the few Independent teams at the moment with Army, Liberty, Notre Dame, UMass, Connecticut and New Mexico State.
The AAC commissioner Mike Aresco spoke on the recent news of these teams potentially leaving the conference.
