The highest-rated defensive tackle among Alabama’s prized trio of four-star DTs for 2016 has had some questions surrounding his eligibility.

However, Raekwon Davis’ high school head coach at Meridian told AL.com’s John Talty that things are looking good on that front, which is good news for Alabama’s front. However, Davis’ work isn’t done.

“He’s working to be eligible,” Calvin Hampton said. “He’s on course to be eligible.”

On National Signing Day, the 6-foot-7, 330-pounder signed with both Alabama and Jones Junior College, indicating that there may be an issue with Davis qualifying academically.

According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Davis is the No. 11 DT in his class and No. 83 prospect overall.

Talty reports that Davis is eyeing a summer enrollment with the Crimson Tide, and Meridian High School has a support team in place making sure Davis fulfills his requirements to be eligible to play at Alabama.
