Report: Appalachian State students allege Miami players assaulted them during pregame entrance

According to a report from PalmBeachPost.com, Appalachian State students were allegedly assaulted by Miami football players during the Hurricanes’ victory this past Saturday.

The alleged event occurred as the Hurricanes ran onto the field. Members of the ASU color guard were reportedly “shoved by several large, aggressive football players.”

Sophie Randleman — a student and member of the color guard — took to Facebook to voice her feelings on the afternoon. According to Randleman, she learned that “several other members were groped, sworn at, taunted and touched in ways that were definitely not asked for.”

Alerted of the event, Miami AD Blake James has began to deal with the event:

“We have already followed up seeking details from both the football and administrative staffs,” James said. “The University of Miami does not tolerate any kind of suggestive behavior, harassment or inappropriate conduct and we will take action if our students did engage in this type of behavior.”
