Report: Failed drug test led to dismissal of Tennessee DT Danny O’Brien

In the days following Tennessee’s difficult double-overtime loss to Texas A&M on Saturday, senior DT Danny O’Brien was unexpectedly dismissed from the team. The only reason given for O’Brien’s dismissal was an unspecified violation of team rules.
On Thursday, a reason was given for O’Brien’s dismissal via Knoxville’s The Sports Animal host Jimmy Hyams:
UT DT Danny O’Brien was dismissed after failing another drug

O’Brien was suspended for the Oklahoma game in 2015 after an unspecified violation of team rules.
The senior had eight tackles, three for loss, so far in 2016.
