Report: Five-star Mississippi State signee apologizes for striking woman

A five-star Mississippi State signee has issued an apology on Facebook for striking a woman Thursday evening after a video of the incident surfaced.
Jeffery Simmons, the highest-rated recruit in the state of Mississippi by 247Sports, and another female are seen striking a woman in the video according to WCBI North Mississippi’s Summer Rascoll. WCBI says it will air the video on its 10 p.m. news broadcast Saturday.
Simmons has apologized to Sophia Taylor and her family in a Facebook post. A screenshot of the post was tweeted by Gridiron Now’s Alex McDaniel.
