Florida quarterback Will Grier has reportedly lost the appeal of his NCAA suspension, according to The Orlando Sentinel, and won’t play for the Gators until the middle of next season.

On Oct. 12, Grier was suspended by the NCAA for one year after testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug. He said he was unaware the drug was in an over-the-counter supplement he was taking.

The freshman quarterback will not be allowed to return to the field until the seventh game of next season. That game will be on Oct. 15, 2016 against Missouri at Florida Field.

Grier, attorney Clay Townsend and Florida’s University Athletic Association argued their case during a conference call this on Monday with the NCAA.

Grier passed for 1,204 yards and 10 touchdowns in six games for the Gators this year, and helped Florida start the season 6-0.
