New year, same success on the recruiting trail for Kirby Smart’s Georgia program, as the Dawgs have landed a second four-star commit on New Year’s Day.

Just hours after Under Armour All-American Deangelo Gibbs committed to UGA, U.S. Army All-American defensive back Tray Bishop of Dawson, Ga., has also committed to Georgia, according to Kipp Adams of Dawgs 247. Bishop made the news while in San Antonio prepping for the 2017 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

The 6-foot-3, 193-pound Bishop committed to Georgia after decommitting from Auburn on Dec. 13. Bishop is also being recruited by Florida. 247Sports rates Bishop as the No. 3 athlete in the nation and the No. 10 prospect from Georgia.

Incredibly, with Bishops commitment added to the 2017 recruiting class, the Bulldogs now have half of the state’s Top 10 prospects committed to the school and 14 of the Top 23 prospects committed. UGA’s 2017 recruiting class is now up to 22 commits and ranks just behind Alabama and Ohio State as the nation’s third-best overall class, according to 247Sports’ 2017 Team Recruiting Rankings.
