A native of Virginia, Rolin played in three games in 2015, including an appearance in the SEC Championship game – where he made eight tackles against Alabama. Last season was the first year Rolin saw the field for the Gators.
Coming out of high school in 2013, Rolin was rated as the No. 147 overall prospect and No. 13 outside linebacker in the nation, according to 247Sports Composite Ratings.
Update: Florida head coach Jim McElwain later addressed Rolin’s situation during his Monday afternoon press conference:
Mac on Matt Rolin: "Kinda lost the love of the game. He's going to stay and graduate.' Should be done this semester if he uses time right
