A scary moment occurred at the Jacksonville Jaguars training camp on Tuesday morning.
It was reported that former Ole Miss RB I’Tavius Mathers was transported to the hospital after being carted off the field via a backboard. Mathers played three seasons with Ole Miss in a limited role before transferring to Middle Tennessee State.
Mathers boosted his NFL stock during his lone season at MTSU with 1,561 rushing yards, 633 receiving yards, and 20 total TD’s.
The AP’s Mark Long tweeted the report:

Mathers finished his career at Ole Miss with 1,198 total yards, seven TD’s, and a 5.6 YPC average. His transfer to MTSU served him well as he used the opportunity to gain attention around the NFL. Mathers went undrafted but signed with the Jaguars as a free agent.
Mathers was facing an uphill battle for a roster spot with former SEC standouts Leonard Fournette and T.J. Yeldon entrenched on the depth chart ahead of him. Now his playing career is on hold as concerns will shift to his health for the immediate future.
