Malcolm Mitchell, a pass-catcher who played at Georgia for four years, exited his first preseason game early last night as a New England Patriot. Mitchell was having a solid debut, as he caught four passes for 55 yards against the New Orleans Saints.

On his fourth reception, though, is when his left arm bent in a way it shouldn’t. The fourth-round draft pick was then immediately taken to the locker room.

The video of the play can be seen here.

According to nbcsports.com, Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald said Mitchell suffered a dislocated elbow on the play. The timeline of the injury suggests an approximate four-week return.

If Mitchell is ready for action in exactly four weeks, he would be eligible to return for the Patriots’ season-opener against the Arizona Cardinals on Sept. 11 for Sunday Night Football.
