Published:
According to a report by USA Today’s Dan Wolken, Houston will hire Alabama OC Lane Kiffin as its next head coach. Kiffin would replace former head coach Tom Herman, who left for the Texas job.
The hire is pending a Thursday meeting that President Renu Khator will have to give the final okay, according to the report.
According to the report, Houston could backtrack on the decision, but as of Wednesday night, Kiffin was operating as if he will become the next head coach.
However, after USA Today’s initial report, conflicting reports surfaced. Beat writer for the Houston Chronicle Joseph Duarte tweeted that Houston hadn’t made a decision on its next head coach.
