Kentucky coach Mark Stoops lost some depth in his secondary on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Kentucky Sports Radio’s Jack Pilgrim, Kentucky sophomore DB Kei Beckham is choosing to leave Stoops and the Wildcat football team in search of another opportunity. The University of Kentucky has also confirmed the news.
Beckham only amassed two career tackles against Austin Peay in 2016. According to the Kentucky depth chart, he was a listed as a backup in 2017. He had yet to record a tackle this season.
Beckham showed improvement since he stepped on campus, including intercepting QB Stephen Johnson in Kentucky’s 2017 spring game.
